Who is it for?

All right, I don't want to lose my non-vegetable eating readers who right now are probably trembling in corners at the mere thought of all those veggies in the post below. So let me make it up to you. This sauce has no vegetable value to it. It is a creamy sauce and the only redeeming value is the fact that it uses skim milk instead of cream. But then I go and add flour to it, so really does it even matter?

So here it is - veggie free pasta. Bad for you, but oh so good!

Rose Pasta Sauce
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 4 Tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  1. In a large bowl, melt butter in microwave.
  2. Stir in flour, then stir in milk. Microwave 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and basil. Microwave another 4 minutes.
Serves 4.

  1. But . . . this has no meat either. Where's your protein?

  2. I like 'em both! I usually eat pasta without veggies until I realize I'm not eating a very nutritious meal. So, I go back and forth between veggie & non!

  6. I heart creamy pasta. I think it'd be great if you tossed in some veggies too.
