Head in a cloud

It's amazing what a little time can do. I'm sure you remember the unappetizing sausage from the other day. Slapped together on a plate with some sauerkraut. Well this is a far cry from that. In fact, when I brought these plates to the table, Thatboy remarked it was downright fancy. Sausage? Fancy? Never thought I'd hear those two words in the same sentence. Unless of course it was something like "I don't want sausage, I'd like something fancy."

The funny thing is, this dinner wasn't really all that different in terms of preparation. I mean it was still sausage and onions, now with the addition of green peppers. And instead of sauerkraut I whipped up some mashed potatoes.

The main difference comes in the presentation, which is far more appetizing, and the salad, which classes everything up.

Sausage and peppers
  • 4 Hot Italian Sausages
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 green pepper, sliced
  • steak sauce
  1. Pierce sausages with a fork a couple times and place them in a skillet. Just cover the sausages with water.
  2. Place the skillet over high heat and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 25 minutes.
  4. Pour out any water leftover and add onion, green peppers, and a splash of steak sauce. Cook 5 minutes, or until peppers are tender.
  5. Add another splash of steak sauce and serve.
