Review: Bath and Bodyworks Japanese Cherry Blossom Lotion

During the winter I use heavy duty boring lotion for my dry skin, so I love when spring comes along and I can use something lighter and yummier. For spring I love a light lotion with a sweet springy scent. Nothing too overpowering, and of course it still has to keep my skin soft......

What: Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Lotion
How Much: $9.50
Where to buy: Bath and Body Works
Review: I've been a Bath and Body Works fan since high school. What's not to like? Actually, you know what I don't like? Everytime I find a new favorite, they discontinue it. Bleh to them. Of course, that means I'm always discovering new scents and favorites. I like to pretend I don't like floral scents, but my favorite perfume is Marc Jacobs - a Gardenia scent. And now I can add another great floral. This one is very light and smells like a day in spring. Not a day in the garden with hundreds of flowers fighting for your attention. Not a summer day when the smell of flowers is sickeningly sweet. Instead its just a hint of "mmm what is the fresh scent?" And like every other BBW lotion, its intensely moisturizing without being heavy. Of course, now that I've told you all how much I love it, they're sure to pull this scent off the shelves and stick it with my juicy pear and ginger lime...

  1. i'm loving the pink grapefruit but know it'll be gone soon. i had given up on b&bw for awhile before that...

  2. Oh, they probably will pull it. I have had the same problem with them. In high school, my teacher even gave me extra credit to write to the company and complain. Never got anything back....bastards.

  3. I love the Cherry Blossom scent. I have it as body cream and shower wash. I think my skin tends to be on the sensitive side because I can not use too much of either.

  10. the only thing i ever buy at BBW these days is anti-bacterial gel and soap. i should give this stuff a shot, but usually i'm running in and out as fast as i can, because all those scents all mixed together in one small space usually gives me a huge headache.

  11. I had that problem over 10 years ago, when they discontinued the scents I loved. If you write or call to them, they can sell you what they have left.

  12. This is a serious question:
Does it smell like Marc Jacobs? I can't imagine it's a substitute for my MJ parfum that lasts for days, but I'd like to know if it smells the same. Maybe I can spend less on the lotion and eau de parfum.

  13. Amanda - this smells nothing like Marc Jacobs - sorry! I was just using that as an example of a floral scent I like. MJ is all good and gardenia-y, this smells nowhere near as good.
